Dysport

Mesos Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Centers now offers Dysport. Dysport is a non-surgical injection used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults under 65.
Occasionally we run specials on injectables and send them out to our e-newsletter subscribers. Please note that while some offices require you to purchase it separately, we provide numbing cream and/or numbing injections FREE OF CHARGE for all injectable treatments.

Who would not be a good candidate for Dysport?

If you are under 18 or are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should not have Dysport treatments, as it has not been tested in that regard. Those who suffer any type of neuromuscular disease should not be treated with Dysport. Do not have Dysport treatment if you are allergic to Dysport or any of its ingredients, are allergic to cow’s milk protein, had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product (such as Myobloc® or Botox®), or have a skin infection at the planned injection site.

About Dysport
Our  Dysport treatments come from the cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, which is usually referred to by its product name Dysport®. This non-surgical injection reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases, and crows feet near the eyes by temporarily blocking the nerve impulses of the underlying muscles. By relaxing a few of the tiny muscles below the skin which cause wrinkles, the skin above apppears smoother and the overall look is more youthful and refreshed.

Though Dysport was approved to use in the U.S. in Spring 2009, it has a history of use in other countries since 1991. Outside the U.S., it was first approved for aesthetic use in 2001.

Typical recovery time after having Dysport
As with Botox, you can go back to work and resume most other activities immediately. There is no down time required after Dysport treatments.

How long do Dysport treatments last?

The effects of our Dysport injections will appear within 7 days, and typically last 4-6 months. The longevity of the effects can vary from person to person.

What are the side effects and risks of  Dysport treatments?

Unwanted side effects are rare with Dysport, but can include nose and throat irritation, headache, injection site pain, injection site skin reaction, upper respiratory tract infection, eyelid swelling, eyelid drooping, sinus inflammation, and nausea.
