BOTOX®

Purified protein. Botox is not a facial filler, but smoothes facial lines and wrinkles by temporarily relaxing the underlying muscles.

4 - 6 months

Helps smooth unattractive horizontal lines across the forehead, vertical frown lines between the eyebrows and crow's feet around the eyes. Can also be used for "bunny lines" on the sides of the nose.
Long USA track record.
Does not require sensitivity testing prior to treatment.

Dysport®

Like Botox, this purified protein relaxes targeted facial muscles to smooth out lines and wrinkles.

4 - 6 months

Mostly used to correct unattractive furrows on the forehead and is often used for patients who have had resistance to Botox.
Does not require sensitivity testing prior to treatment.

JUVÉDERM™

Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which is naturally occuring in the skin.

Up to 1 year due to a high concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid.

Fills in facial lines and can also be used for facial shaping and lip enhancement.
No risk of allergic reaction. Does not require sensitivity testing prior to treatment. Delivers immediate correction.

Restylane®

Non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid (NASHA) gel which restores volume, improves skin elasticity, and smoothes lines and wrinkles.

Around 8 months in most, although some patients report longer.

Fills in facial lines and can also be used for facial shaping, lip enhancement and tear troughs.  No risk of allergic reaction.  Does not require sensitivity testing prior to treatment.
Delivers immediate correction.

Perlane®

Like Restylane, Perlane is made from non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid (NASHA) gel, but with larger gel particles for use deeper within the dermis.

6-12 months

Fills in facial lines, such as nasolabial folds, and can also be used for facial shaping. No risk of allergic reaction.  Does not require sensitivity testing prior to treatment. Delivers immediate correction.

Radiesse®

Sculptra

Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a water-based gel carrier. Identical in composition to the mineral portion of bones and teeth.

Sculptra® is a synthetic injectable material known as "poly-L-lactic acid", which is biodegradable and non-toxic. It works by helping the skin to produce extra collagen of its own, a process referred to as "neocollagenesis". The gradual improvement results in facial contouring and volumetric enhancement or a Non-Surgical Facelift.

1.5 - 2 years

The treatment results lasted for up to 2 years after the first treatment session, in most people. Touch-up treatments may be needed to maintain the desired effect.

Used for nasolabial folds, hands, frown lines and facial contouring, and actually stimulates the body to produce new collagen for a soft, natural look.
Delivers immediate correction. Reduces the need for re-treatment.    Soft, natural-looking results that feel like the patient's own tissue.  Virtually no risk of allergic reaction.  Does not require sensitivity testing prior to treatment

Sculptra® is injected below the surface of the skin in the area of fat loss. Sculptra® provides a gradual increase in skin thickness.Visible results appear within the first few treatment sessions. Sculptra® will not correct the underlying cause of the facial fat loss, but will help improve the appearance by increasing skin thickness in the treated area. Does not require sensitivity testing prior to treatment.

* Longevity of results depends on many factors, which vary from patient to patient and treatment to treatment. These include age, skin type, lifestyle and other factors such as the strength of the muscles between the eyebrows.
